A Labor Day weekend tradition continues in the New Bohemia neighborhood, with the Eighth Annual NewBo Arts Festival set for 10am to 6pm Sunday, August 31, 2014. NewBo Arts Fest is Cedar Rapids’ premier art show, focused on Iowa artists. NewBo Arts Fest welcomes applications from all artists, and is known for showcasing high quality artwork in the eclectic New Bohemia Arts & Cultural District.

Artist Application

THANK YOU for your interest in the Eighth Annual NewBo Arts Festival! NewBo ArtsFest is Cedar Rapids’ premier art show, focused on Iowa artists. NewBo ArtsFest welcomes applications from all artists, and is known for showcasing high quality artwork in the eclectic New Bohemia Arts & Cultural District. NewBo ArtsFest is an invitation only show; a jury will determine “Best in Show” in three categories, 2-D, 3-D and Mixed Media. Click here to download the paper application for artists, or select an option using the form below to complete the application online.  
To maintain high standards, all work must be original, handmade, created and exhibited by the approved artist. Work made from a commercially available kit or plan is not acceptable. Artists may submit and show work in more than one category.

FESTIVAL HOURS 10AM – 6PM SUNDAY AUGUST 31, 2014

7:00 AM

Check-in begins: Artists are allowed to start set-up. Artists should check in, located their space, unload and remove vehicles from the street before setting up. Artists should check-in no later than 8am, and MUST HAVE THEIR DISPLAY SET NO LATER THAN 9:45 AM.

10:00 AM -- 6:00 PM NEWBO ARTSFEST

6:00 PM -- 7:00 PM

 

Breakdown starts at 6 pm and must be completed by 7:00 pm. Booths should NOT be broken down prior to 6pm. Artists are required to remove all equipment: tent, tables, chairs, displays, art. All garbage should be removed with your booth.
